The leadership team has a few messages to share with everyone regarding the AERA 2025 Meeting Program, Early Career events, Graduate Student events, and other opportunities. Be sure to pay special attention to events that are just around the corner (one happening on Monday, Feb. 24).

We’ve got a MotSIG Social CONFIRMED! The social will be on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 9:00 pm to 11:30 pm at Rock Bottom Brewery, which is a 0.4 mile walk from the Convention Center. There are 110 tickets available for non-student SIG members at $40, which allows us to subsidize up to 65 graduate students attending for free!

Graduate Student Committee:
Motivation Monday: Join us on February 24, 2025 at 7:00PM EST to discuss Navigating Theory Development: Graduate Students’ Role in Advancing Educational Psychology. We will host a panel of scholars to discuss the role graduate students play in moving the field of educational psychology and motivation research forward. All are welcome to join the discussion. Grad Student Writing Groups: We are continuing to collaborate with DIV C, Complexity Theories SIG, and Teaching Educational Psychology SIG to host weekly writing groups. Our writing groups offer graduate students a designated space for writing productivity and support. Come check in with others, make some progress, and potentially even receive some feedback! Our writing groups meet regularly on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM EST (register here), Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM EST (register here), and (New Time!) Wednesday mornings from 11 am-1 pm EST; 10 am – 12 pm CST; 9-11 am MST; 8-10 am PST (Wednesday Morning Registration here) **For our regular Writing Group attendees, please note our Wednesday morning session time has changed. We will now meet at 11:00 am EST**

Spring Writing Groups (Jan 20-May 14): Feel free to attend part of one, a full session, or both! We’ll start and end each session with 10 minutes of checking in on goals and progress before writing for about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
