Our Purpose

We are the Motivation in Education Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association. We aim to advance motivation research in education by exchanging ideas and perspectives and developing practices and interventions to improve motivation. To advance the understanding of motivational processes in education, particularly by promoting research, exchanging ideas and perspectives, and by developing practices and interventions to improve learner motivation.
