ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY, UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO

The Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2020. The successful candidate will contribute to our graduate programs in educational psychology, teach graduate courses, support graduate students, and further the department’s efforts to build partnerships with schools and social service agencies in San Antonio. Moreover, the successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse urban populations and support the University’s commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.

Responsibilities include: teaching graduate courses; advising and supervising graduate students; conducting an active program of research; seeking extramural grant funding; and providing service to the department, college, and university.

Required Qualifications: (1) earned doctorate in Educational Psychology or a related field by August 2020 and (2) a record of scholarly productivity and extramural funding commensurate with level of experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: (1) evidence of training and/or experience in foundational areas of educational psychology including but not limited to motivation, learning and cognition, development, research and evaluation methods, and/or educational policy sufficient to (a) teach courses in motivation, learning, development, research methods and statistics, and/or evaluation, and (b) conduct research that advances the field; and (2) evidence of training and/or professional experience with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
