WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN ST. LOUIS, Department of Education – Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The Department of Education at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty appointment in Education at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) to begin in the fall semester of 2020. A Ph.D. in Education or a closely related social science field (e.g., sociology, psychology, political science, economics) is required at the time of appointment. Duties will include conducting research, writing for publication, teaching assigned courses, advising students, participating in department governance, and providing university service.
Successful candidates will have well-defined theoretical and empirical interests in one or more of the following areas: policy studies, applied psychology of learning, and teacher education. In addition, the ideal candidate is expected to have strong methodological background in quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research and demonstrate a commitment to open science. For the rank of Associate Professor, the minimum required experience also includes five years of relevant prior service in a tenure-track position (or similar experience in research or policy), an extensive publication record that is commensurate with a tenured rank, and success in obtaining external research funding.
