Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking a full-time research scientist for an NSF-funded research project. The goal of the project is to develop instructional interventions that improve students’ motivation to learn STEM . The candidate chosen for the position will (1) help design and conduct classroom-based interventions to improve students’ motivation to learn science concepts; (2) have competence in analyzing and interpreting data, including proficiency in SPSS and other statistical packages; and (3) write and communicate clearly and concisely. The research conducted will result in co-authorship on publications. Salary will be competitive. The starting date is negotiable. Candidates must have a PhD or be on schedule to obtain one in areas related to cognition, motivation, instructional psychology or science education in 2016 or Spring, 2017.
