Hello Motivation SIG members,
Along with Drs. Lisa Linnenbrink-Garcia and Harris Cooper, I am currently updating a research synthesis that examines the impact of performance feedback on academic motivation and performance across elementary and secondary school. In order to do so, I am searching for all studies conducted within a K-12 classroom environment that compare the impact of providing students with grades versus (a) no feedback or (b) written comments on their academic motivation or performance. Please note that studies examining these questions through experimental, quasi-experimental, or non-experimental designs are all of interest to us.
Although we have already conducted a rigorous search of this literature, unpublished studies can be especially difficult to retrieve. As a result, I am especially interested in receiving any unpublished research documents, which include (but are not limited to) conference papers, Master’s theses and dissertations, and manuscripts that are in preparation or in press.
Please send all electronic documents to [email protected] by July 20, 2018. If only hard copies are available, please send me a bill for postage, and please then mail the documents to:

While we cannot offer much more than our sincere appreciation for these difficult-to-locate studies, we will cite all qualifying studies in the manuscript. We would also be more than happy to share a copy of our final paper with anyone who is interested.
Thanks for your time in considering this request,
Alison
