The Department of Psychology (Prof. Dr. Dresel) in the Faculty for Philosophy and Social Sciences at the University of Augsburg in Germany is announcing an open position, as of January 1, 2018, for a Scientific Research Associate (wage rates commensurate with Salary Group 13 of the Germany Collective Payment Accord TV-L) with a 65% full-time position in the above mentioned project. The position is initially to be filled for a period of two years. Subject to the availability of continued funding, there is a possibility of continued engagement. The project is conducted in cooperation with the University of Mannheim (Prof. Dr. Oliver Dickhäuser). The Department of Psychology, in both teaching and research, pursues a educational psychological profile, which is closely intertwined with central psychological perspectives, for the analysis and encouragement of scholastic and extra-curricular educational processes (see www.uni-augsburg.de/psy/).
A prerequisite for the position is a university degree, in very good standing, in Psychology or the field of the Educational Sciences. Furthermore, the successful candidate should be proficient, and in possession of experience, in empirical research methods, and should also demonstrate excellent English skills. Also, the candidate is expected to be strongly interested in pursuing a PhD in Psychology.

Tasks in the position encompass the development of theoretical models and measurement instruments, the planning, conducting and analyzing of multiple empirical studies (including quasi-experimental and longitudinal studies) as well as the international publication and presentation of research results. The position offers extensive possibilities for the development of independent research skills, the opportunity for integration into the research community as well as access to the international research activities conducted by the Department of Psychology.
