AERA 2021 Special Session

AERA 2021 Special Session

We can’t wait to see you at our AERA 2021 invited session (co-sponsored by Division C and the Motivation in Education SIG) titled “Keeping the Conversation Going: Next Steps in Theoretical Approaches to Understanding the Academic Motivation of Racially and Ethnically Diverse Students” this Sunday, April 11th, 2021 at 2:30 pm (EDT).

Our symposium will be almost entirely discussion-based, and will feature a wonderful group of panelists: Drs. Jessica DeCuir-Gunby, Sandra Graham, Wendy Grolnick, Revathy Kumar, Jamaal Matthews, Tim Urdan, Ellen Usher, and Allan Wigfield.

In order to prioritize the discussion-based nature of the session, our panelists have generously recorded asynchronous videos that will serve as the perfect springboard for our discussion.  Please feel free to check out the panelists’ videos below.

In addition, we’d like as many Division C and SIG members’ voices represented as possible during the discussion!  As a result, we welcome and encourage you to submit questions in advance by Thursday, April 8th.  Please feel free to do so here: https://forms.gle/cxpPevpwMfQBrp9U6.  In addition, please don’t hesitate to contact Alison Koenka ([email protected]) and Allan Wigfield ([email protected]) with any questions.
