2020 AERA RoGCT SIG Gifted Connection Call for Applications

Research on Giftedness, Creativity, & Talent SIG, 2020 AERA RoGCT SIG Gifted Connection Call for Applications

Are you a graduate student interested in studying giftedness, creativity, or talent? Do you want to connect with scholars in the field?

Are you a faculty member, researcher, or academic who works in or has a background in giftedness, creativity, or talent? Are you at least 3 years post-PhD?

If you answered YES, we invite you to apply to participate in the annual AERA RoGCT SIG Gifted Connection, a mentorship opportunity that will take place during the 2020 AERA annual meeting in San Francisco.

This program is a great way for graduate students to network with experts in giftedness, creativity, and talent. Mentors and mentees are carefully matched according to similar interests, experiences, and expertise. Mentoring pairs meet for approximately one hour during AERA and can talk about everything from research to career advice. Mentors are reimbursed up to $20 for coffee, snacks, etc.

Graduate students from all programs are eligible! Priority is given to students who are not enrolled in formal gifted education programs and to first-time mentees.

Mentors from all departments and programs are encouraged to apply. Did you serve as a mentor in the past? No need to re-apply…simply email us to sign-up!

Applications are due by March 1, 2020, 11:59 p.m.

Participating in Gifted Connection gave me the opportunity to connect with a leading scholar in the field. I left our meeting with a head full of ideas. The best part is we’ve stayed in contact and are now working on a study together!” ~Past Mentee
